The US bombed Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites in Iran on the night of June 21, joining Israel in its aggression against the sovereign state of Iran.
Six 13.6 tonne “bunker-buster” warheads were used to strike Fordow nuclear site, which is located deep underground below a mountain range. 30 Tomahawk missiles were launched from US submarines against the Natanz and Isfahan facilities.
Trump announced to the nation that:
Iran's key uranium enrichment facilities were completely destroyed;
The aim of the US strikes was to limit Iran's nuclear capabilities;
"Middle Eastern bully Iran" must now make peace;
The US is ready to launch new strikes if the Iran problem is not resolved;
Escalation in the Middle East cannot continue: the next attacks on Iran could be much worse
In the event of a possible retaliatory strike by Iran, Washington will use even greater force than it did in an attack on nuclear facilities
Fordow no longer
In response:
IRAN’s reaction has been to deny US claims of destroying nuclear facilities, including Fordow.
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said that the data on the destruction of facilities, including the nuclear center in Fordow, is not true. No radiation leaks or signs of contamination were recorded - this was later confirmed by the UN’s international Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Iranian Center for Nuclear Safety Systems reported that all necessary checks have been carried out, there is no threat to the population, and traffic on routes near the facilities, including the highways between Tehran, Qom and Isfahan, continues as normal.
Kuwait National Guard reported:
We have not detected any increase in radiation levels in Kuwait airspace and waters following the American attacks on Iran”
Officials in the region said there was "minor damage" and rejected Trump's claim that Fordow was destroyed.
Iranian MP Mannan Raisi said that the main strikes hit ground structures and that all potentially dangerous materials were removed in advance.
Iran called the US statements "bluff" and stressed that Iranian nuclear facilities remain intact.
In war, truth is the first casualty. Aeschylus.
What are these bunker bombs:
The GBU-57A/B "Massive Ordnance Penetrator" is 13.6 tonnes of tungsten, delayed fuses, and geological stress sequencing. They are designed to penetrate mountains. But Fordow was designed for this exact scenario: curved tunnels, offset caverns, anti-penetration strata, and redundant IR-6 centrifuge chambers. As confirmed by the IAEA head Rafael Grossi in recent statements on the facilities that they have inspected.
To truly destroy Fordow’s core, you’d need perfect timing, vector convergence, and hitting your mark exactly on three consecutive strikes at precisely the same place. After the strike there was no evidence of an internal collapse or seismic spikes or underground fire signatures. Again all confirmed by the IAEA.
The 30 Tomahawks fired on Natanz & Esfahan are designed for surface-level disruption—not destroy buried centrifuges.
Fordow is a highly protected underground facility buried in a mountain. If it is still operational, the US just burned through $100m plus, on a bunker-busting show and Iran now climbs the escalation ladder.
A bit of background:
Israel has been wanting to provoke Iran into a regional conflict for the last 30 years. Every year Netanyahu has proclaimed Iran is close to producing a Nuclear bomb. Its what has kept him in power all these years.
The scare mongering is ironic once you consider Israel has anywhere between 100 and 400 nuclear war heads - which it has never officially admitted or declared. We don’t know because Israel is the only country in the world with nuclear weapons not to sign up to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Iran is a signatory.
In the last year alone, Israel has attacked 4 of its neighbours, committing a genocide, war crimes and ethnic cleansing. Iran has not attacked anyone for over 200 years.
Iran is subjected to continuous IAEA nuclear inspections. 22% of a global inspections by the IAEA has happened in Iran. Israel has never allowed anyone near its sites in Dimona.
Israel has what is known as the Samson Doctrine which states that is Israel feels it is under an existential threat of annihilation, it will fire all its nuclear war heads and take the rest of the world down with it. Coordinates are set for Paris, London other European cities and most Middle East and Eurasian capitals. Israel is determined to destroy the world if threatened.
Iran’s spiritual leader Khamenei placed a fatwa on possessing nuclear weapons in 2006. It is considered forbidden under Islamic law.
The Zionists in Israel have no such qualms.
US Policy:
In 2009 the Brookings Institute, a Washington think tank, published a paper called “Which Path to Persia?”. In the paper, it laid out the strategy and steps to regime change and balkanise Iran.
It plays out how the US is required a have a perceived Iranian "provocation" to wade into the war itself, using fake negotiations and using Israel to provoke the war. But at this point, the US has now gone down the entire list of options except for an all out US invasion of Iran.
The entire paper can be found here:
https://www.brookings.edu/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/06_iran_strategy.pdf
President Trump, VP Vance, Sec. of State Rubio and their cabinet of warmongering Neocons have announced unprovoked US strikes on Iran: they are openly committed to the 2009 policy paper.
It never had anything to do with nuclear weapons its all about regime change. US intelligence agencies have declared that Iran doesn’t have nuclear weapons and is not pursing them as confirmed by the IAEA.
If they were genuinely concerned about nuclear weapons Israel would have de-commissioned their huge arsenal by now. This is about maintaining Israel regional hegemony and control. Subjugating any potential threat to Israel’s regional domination.
Even this, is only part of a wider strategy of a wider confrontation with Russia and China. The vast majority of Iranian oil is supplied to China. This has been a consistent policy from Bush, to Obama to Trump to Biden and now back to Trump.
Iran’s retaliatory reaction:
IRGC Spokesman:
“Iranian retaliatory strikes targeted Ben Gurion Airport, biological investigation centers, command and control facilities, and various military infrastructure used by the enemy forces.
Iranian missile strike hits the coastal Israeli settlement of Nes Ziona, home to the Israeli Institute for Biological Research (IIBR), was among the reported targets of the Iranian bombardment. Iran’s strike on this site signals a broader warning to the world about the covert operations and ethical violations potentially taking place within such facilities."
What is the Israeli Institute for Biological Research (IIBR)?
A top secret biological weapons center in Ness Ziona, 20 km from Tel Aviv.
It is a highly classified military facility involved in classified biological and chemical weapons research, as well as military research. This facility is known for alleged testing of bioweapons, human samples, and potentially dangerous non-human experiments. The institute is linked to biological warfare and plots involving assassinations using toxic substances in Iran & elsewhere.
According to some unofficial reports, this institute is considered part of Israel’s hidden arsenal of unconventional weapons.
Meanwhile, Iranian state TV publishes a map showing the range of its missiles against American targets in the region.
US REACTION
A lockdown has been declared at US military bases in the Middle East, MSM channels report. The Pentagon is preparing for possible Iranian missile strikes.
The UK issued a statement that it was not involved in the operation, yet is still placing its military base on high alert.
Congress reaction:
A number of congress people on the Democratic side of the aisle have come out and condemned the US bombing and are seeking to impeach Trump for going to war without congressional approval. Which is required under the Constitution.
US & Israeli objectives:
Israel and the United States claim as the goal is to completely destroy the nuclear capability of Iran. This is not achievable for a number of reasons.
Israel has attacked the Natanz facilities before. The bunker-busting bomb will definitely cause some damage to the Fordow site but reports are unconfirmed as to the extent of the damage.
Nuclear capability has three elements: "knowledge", "technology", “facilities and capability” - which relates to equipment and enriched materials.
Indigenous knowledge, cannot be destroyed by bombing. if nuclear capability could be shut down by assassinating scientists, Isreal would have achieved this goal already.
Indigenous technology: Iran has is own centrifuges which has been attacked and disrupted the nuclear capability but not destroyed.
"Enriched materials," images and information show that Iran has transferred enriched materials to secret locations and in the past under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action agreement (JCPOA) exported it to Russia and Germany for processing.
US & Israel know they can not destroy the nuclear capability of Iran. Obama officially and publicly told the Israelis this years ago that there was no real military option to destroy Iran's nuclear program, even with bunker buster bombs.
The why would the US carry out such an operation now?
Why would Trump sanction this unlike his predecessors? Why now? His election campaign and MAGA base are against more wars, it was one of reasons why he won election.
There is no upside in this for Trump. He will lose his voter base and the next election will cost JD Vance. All for Israel. The rock he will perish on.
He was under pressure from the neocons in his administration, his Zionist donors and the Israel lobby, fronted by AIPAC. The Israel lobby uses funding and blackmail to sway US lawmakers to their will. Funding their elections is well established and they boast openly about it. Blackmail is a tactic they fall back on when other pressure points fail to get the results they want. Jeffery Epstein and his island of child trafficking was a honey trap for Mossad - Israeli’s secret service.
Donald Trump was a frequent visitor to the Island. One theory doing the rounds is that this card is being played now.
Or it could also be symbolic gesture to get Israel out of the fight, an off ramp for Israel and save face. Israel needs to announce a major achievement to exit the campaign it has launched, knowing it can’t win and the Israeli economy is tanking.
JD Vance, US vice-president said:
“Peace is all the US is after. We only attacked this facility because the Iranians were dragging us along. We have no interest in boots on the ground”
Bombing for peace. Orwellian.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi:
Calls to return to diplomatic talks make no sense, as it was the US that sabotaged ongoing negotiation - first by green lighting Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, then launching its own attacks. There will be no negotiations with the United States.
In response, Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth said
If Iran retaliates the US will strike back with a stronger force.
The US raised the ante. Narcissistic gaslighting as it finest.
Iran’s ambassador, Mousavi then said:
Iran has a right to defend ourselves. In accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, when a regime (like Israel) attacks us with force, we exercise our natural and legitimate right to self-defence.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi is heading to Russia today to meet with Putin and has called for a UN Security Council meeting.
Iran's response will have to be uncompromising and genuine.
What next?
Days & weeks ahead are going to be tense - to say the least. A wider confrontation can not be discounted. The Yemenis have said they will enter the fray if the US attacks Iran. The Shia militia in Iraq have said the same, as have Hezbollah in Lebanon. The domino effect of a wider war has catastrophic consequences for the region directly and globally.
At the time of writing, Iranian Parliament have agreed to close the Straits of Hormuz to naval traffic. Oil prices and inflation will spike and we could be heading for a global recession as the Straits of Hormuz is the gateway through which 20% of global oil flows.
Iranian Parliament Foreign Policy Committee Head Abbas Golroo said on Sunday 22 June, that:
“Iran has the legal right to withdraw from the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) based on its Article 10 following U.S. strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities. Article 10 states that an NPT member has "the right to withdraw from the Treaty if it decides that extraordinary events have jeopardized the supreme interests of its country."
Added to the fact that the Iranians are suing IAEA Head Mr Rafeal Grossi for colluding and passing on sensitive information about Iran’s nuclear programme to the Israeli’s and making false claims that Iran was not compliant with its obligations to the IAEA. These claims made publicly were the pre-text for Israel to attack Iran last week.
The accusations of bias and collusion will damage any future agreement between nuclear powers and if Iran was to exit the NPT that would unravel the global control and management of nuclear weapons.
This follows on from the Ukrainian drone attack on Russian Strategic assets in early June. It now seems that attacking a nuclear power’s arsenal is no longer unthinkable.
Countries are beginning to realise it is better to have nuclear weapons as a deterrent to the risk of regime change like Kim Jong-Un in North Korea. And not like Gaddafi in Libya, when he gave up his nuclear arsenal to win favour from the West he ended up dead.
The era of global nuclear control and management is coming to an end. Its making the unthinkable thinkable.
